Superficial Skin Peels
Medium-Depth Peels
-
Chemical peels use different medical compounds in a serum and apply them to the skin. This loosens the bonds between cells and allows the top layer of dead skin cells to slough off. Typically, chemical exfoliation is used to remove the outer dead layer of skin and stimulate a fresh new layer of skin. The goal is to improve the overall quality of your skin's texture and tone. Peels can therefore improve the appearance of fine lines and winkles, hyperpigmentation, acne, and sun-damaged skin.
-
Common side effects include mild discomfort and pain with stinging or itching, temporary redness post-peel, and skin flaking which will resolve.
-
Dr Emmaline offers superficial and medium-depth peels. Superficial peels will only remove the very outer layer of the skin, known as the epidermis. Medium-depth peels will remove the outer layer of the skin and reach the very upper portion of the dermal layers.
