Skincare is complicated! A lot of clinicians use the term “medical-grade skincare” or “cosmeceuticals” to describe the skincare that they use for their patients. This usually refers to skincare that is only available for purchase through doctors or skincare clinics. However, for the sake of transparency, I want to make it clear that medical-grade skincare is not a regulated term, it is a marketing one, and there is a wealth of incredible science-based skincare out there.

For many of the brands I work with, the medical-grade skincare lines can only be purchased from a practitioner who has undergone required training, or prescribed by a doctor
Why? Because sometimes this skincare is medication that treats specific skin concerns - like pigmentation or acne - and needs to be dispensed by someone with knowledge and training who has had a proper consultation with the patient. You also need a practitioner who has understanding of the biology of the skin. Other skincare brands are only available via skincare clinic. -
Certain skincare concerns fall under the scope of aesthetic medicine. Basic skincare advice that focuses on optimising your skin health is our foundation. We can also focus on certain skin concerns like acne, pigmentation, rosacea, and sun damage.

There are so many incredible and interesting skincare brands out there, with amazing science and cosmetic chemistry behind them. Dr Emmaline has handpicked the brands she chooses to work with and recommend in her clinic, and has options from a wide range of products to suit every budget.
Skincare is individual and unique, but it doesn’t need to be overcomplicated. The most important is thing is that you can get unbiased, honest, and evidence-based advice.
-
You will meet with Dr Emmaline - either virtually/online or in clinic - to discuss your primary skin concerns. Whatever they are, we will then work together with to curate a treatment plan tailored just for you.
Our virtual skincare consults allow us to ship skincare internationally. There is never any pressure to go with our treatment plans unless you are 100% happy with the recommendations. You plan will be sent to you via email after the consult. -
The key is consistency, consistency, consistency! Although our products are very effective and powerful, and clients often see results within days to a week, this is not always the case.
Remember that you normal skin cell cycle is approximately a month, and becomes longer as we age. You shouldn't expect to see full results until then, and many of the clinical studies look at endpoints of 8-weeks or 12-weeks.
So be patient! You skin will thank you.
